Emergency Preparedness Plans (EPPs)
In order to uphold the highest standards for workplace health, safety, and accessibility for people with disabilities, MIT Emergency Management works with DLCs to develop emergency preparedness plans (EPPs). These plans encompass evacuation information, personal protective actions, and accountability information that is specific to the DLC.
Continuity Planning
To ensure that mission-critical work at MIT continues, MIT Emergency Management collaborates with DLCs to develop continuity plans. The goal of a continuity plan is to ensure that essential functions can continue during an emergency or are restored quickly after a disruption.
Drills and Exercises
To ensure that EPPs, continuity plans, and other related procedures work as expected, MIT Emergency Management oversees drills and exercises for DLCs. This includes creating, conducting, evaluating, and observing table-top, functional, or full-scale exercises.
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)
MIT Emergency Management manages the Institute’s robust Automated External Defibrillator (AED) program. This includes coordinating new installations, replacing older units, and maintenance of existing units.
